8 Helpful Teletherapy Resources for Therapy Activities

Teletherapy has become increasingly popular in the field of Speech-Language Pathology and there is a chance that you may encounter teletherapy at one point during your career. So, when planning activities for your virtual therapy sessions, where do you begin? Here are 8 helpful resources that will simplify your therapy prep and, bonus, your clients will love!

Ultimate SLP

This is a paid subscription, but totally worth it! Ultimate SLP is a staple and a go-to for any speech or language goal. It has a variety of different games for different ages as well as almost any target area you can think of. You can choose your targets to go along with whatever game your client likes, or you can simply use the flashcard feature to go along with any other activity you have planned.

Pink Cat Games

This website offers a few free games, but also has the option of a paid subscription that allows access to even more games/activities. Pink Cat Games offers a library of teacher and SLP created question sets that will address almost any target area. It also gives the option to create your own question sets.

Jeopardy Labs

Who doesn’t love a good game of Jeopardy? And it's free! Jeopardy Labs lets you choose from a variety of question sets that have been created by other therapists and teachers or gives you the ability to create your own games. This is a favorite among my older school age students and perfect for group sessions with mixed goals.

WordWall

Another website that offers access to teacher/therapist created activities, with the options to make your own. WordWall has unique games such as hangman, mazes, matching, Wack-a-Mole, gameshows and more. These games are great for school-age children.

Wheel of Names

This is a random wheel spinner. Wheel of Names is one of my favorites because it is so versatile. I typically like to use it for articulation goals but have also used it for language goals. Copy and paste a word list into the box, and it will automatically create a wheel with those words. It has fun sound effects and confetti that make the game more exciting for your clients.

Owlie Boo Online-Coloring

Here is one for younger children or any student who enjoys art and coloring. There are a variety of categories to choose from and color. There is an option to save the picture when the client is finished, which can be emailed to them so they can print and show off their artwork.

Story Place- The Children’s Digital Learning Library

Story Place is designed for pre-school age children. It offers a list of topics to read about and provides you with a planned-out lesson plan. Most topics include a story with moving pictures and narration, an online activity, and a take home activity. I’ve used this for vocabulary building and utterance expansion.

Peekaboo Kidz YouTube Channel

A great channel on YouTube for older school age children who are working on comprehension questions, retell and more. It’s fun to switch it up from the usual reading passages with something a little more engaging and interactive. This channel has an endless number of educational videos with topics that are silly and entertaining. Each video is narrated by the character, Dr. Binocs, adding humor that the kids love.
