Speech Therapy Rooms

Who doesn't get excited about decorating their therapy room? Here are three favorite spots in mine:

  1. Our Goal Board. This is from our New Year's Resolution activity way back in January! I wrote down something each student really wanted to accomplish in the remaining time this school year, and then they got to decorate their page, of course! Putting it on the wall serves as a constant reminder of what we're working towards together.
  2. My AAC Poster. From TobiiDynavox, this is a "life-size" copy of a high-tech AAC board. This has not only been amazing for preverbal communicators, but also as sight words for my older students!
  3. My Animal Alphabet Rug. One of my preschoolers LOVES pointing at each square to request that I act out each animal, especially the "stinky" skunk! This is also a helpful visual for working on phonological awareness skills with my students, such as letter/sound identification.

What are some must-haves in your therapy room?
